Meta aramid usually has quite high vitrification temperature and crystallinity so that it is very difficult to dye. It cannot be dyed by conventional methods, and even if some ones are reluctantly dyed, their colour fastness is poor. In order to solve this problem, various countries have adopted a series of special dyeing methods.
1. Solvent dyeing method
Its disadvantage is that after dyeing, it needs to go through a lot of water to remove the solvent on the aryl fiber.Formaldehyde is easy to cause human poisoning, and solvent recovery is difficult.
2. Dope dyeing method
This dyeing is good for color fastness. Its disadvantage is that it can only provide very few color varieties, only suitable for mass production.
3. Carrier staining method
This is a common staining method used for aromatic polyamide fibers. The dyeing process of this method is simple, bright color, color fastness can reach grade 3-4. But It is harmful to the human ans the environment.
4. Open amplitude continuous rapid dyeing method:
Using non-polar organic solvent with high boiling point as dyeing medium, the dyed fabric has light color and low color fastness, because there is very little dye in the dyeing medium.
5. Coating method:
It is very convenient and feasible, but the fabric is not comfortable, and it will affect the flame retardant performance.
