First is the PH is unqualified.The reason is mainly due to natural fibers such as cotton molecules contain hydrophilic groups such as hydroxyl, with acid, alkali has the certain affinity, if washed in the production process (neutral) is not completely, or the washing process to add various finishing agent has not be authority control, will cause there is acid, alkali residue on the fabric.  To prevent the invasion of disease and harmful bacteria, human sweat secretion is weakly acidic (PH 5.2-5.8).  If the PH value of textiles in direct contact with skin is not controlled properly, it will directly affect the PH value of human skin, thus affecting health.  The PH value testing of flame retardant fabric is always one of the key ecological textile indexes tested by regulators of various countries, and it is also a frequently unqualified index.  

 

The unqualified rate of color fastness is also very high. In the world, especially in developed countries and regions, compulsory testing of color fastness index of clothing is required.  For example, OEKO-TEX 100, which is the most representative in Europe, lists color fastness as a safety item and specifies specific technical requirements.  

 

 

The most importance of the flame retardant performance of flame retardant fabric flame retardant effect evaluation is essentially the first fire burning flame retardant fabrics (or) in a flame of fire in a period of time, after the fabric away from the flame, evaluate the degree of combustion and flame propagation speed, some require high level of foreign customers to assess smoke and toxic combustion emissions targets.  

 

At present, there are mainly the following test methods for flame retardant effect of flame retardant fabric:  

 

1. Oxygen limit index (LOI) method: it refers to the minimum oxygen concentration required to maintain the candle-like combustion of the fabric when the combustion occurs in the mixture of oxygen and nitrogen. The greater the oxygen limit index, the better the flame retardant effect of the fabric.  This method is suitable for scientific research and is not often used in the production of flame retardant cloth.  

 

2. The vertical burning method: refers to the use of specific ignition source (40 mm) flame height, from fabric bottom 20 mm center for fixed vertical fabric to burn in the u-shaped clip, within the prescribed burning time, through evaluation of fabric combustion state, continue burning time, smoldering indices such as the length of the time, to test a method of fire-retardant cloth flame retardant performance.  In China and most countries, the vertical burning method is mostly used in flame retardant testing of flame retardant cloth.  

 

3. 45° inclined plane combustion method: under the specified conditions, the sample is placed at 45°, the sample is ignited for 1S, and the time required for the sample to burn upward for a certain distance is used as an evaluation method. The flame retardant effect of the flame retardant cloth is measured by the measured time of continued burning and smouldering, damaged area and damaged length.  

 

In terms of flame retardant performance, some countries will have corresponding flame retardant standards to regulate, so that customers of flame retardant fabrics have a basis to follow, so as not to buy unqualified flame retardant fabrics.
